Tallahassee Museum – This is No Ordinary Museum

Oh boy, where do I even start? The Tallahassee Museum was an absolute blast! It’s not your typical boring museum filled with dusty old artifacts, oh no. Instead, it’s a unique This 52-acre outdoor museum that combines history and wildlife all in one place.

Where else can you stroll through a 19th-century farmstead, pet a baby goat, see a bunch of bald eagles, or even bears and then walk across a swaying suspension bridge over a live alligator exhibit?

It’s like a choose-your-own-adventure book come to life! And don’t even get me started on the zip-line course. Olivia wanted so bad to be like flying through the treetops like a superhero, but unforunately the height limit was 54″ so she just an inch to shy. It looked so fun.

There are even outdoor playgrounds for the kids. It’s awesome. So, if you want to have an unforgettable day of adventure and excitement, the Tallahassee Museum is definitely the place to be.

Go Shopping at Market Square

Market Square is this awesome outdoor shopping center that has everything you could want in a shopping trip. With over 60 stores and restaurants, you can spend the whole day exploring all the different options. You can find anything from high-end fashion at Chico’s to unique home decor at Southern Compass Outfitters.

And if you’re into vintage finds, you should definitely check out The Other Side Vintage or My Favorite Things. When you need a break from all the shopping, there are plenty of restaurants to choose from, like the delicious Nefetari’s Fine Cuisine and Spirits.

Oh, and the best part? Market Square hosts regular events like the Farmer’s Market and Art in the Park, so there’s always something new to see and experience.

Railroad Square Art Park

Railroad Square Park in Tallahassee provided a delightful experience for visitors of all ages. The park’s vibrant and welcoming atmosphere, complemented by live music and food trucks, created a fun and exciting space for all.

Olivia, our 9-year-old, had a great time taking part in outdoor activities such as playing in the interactive water fountain. Meanwhile, our toddler, Jack had a blast running around the open green space and cooling off in the fountain.

Overall, Railroad Square Park is an ideal location for a family outing, with something for everyone to enjoy.

The portions are just the right size for little tummies, and the presentation is fun and playful. The staff at Table 23 is incredibly friendly and accommodating, making our family feel welcome and comfortable throughout our dining experience.

The Hyatt House in Tallahassee is the perfect place for families to stay while visiting the city. The spacious rooms are ideal for families, with separate sleeping areas and a kitchenette, which is perfect for storing and preparing snacks and meals.

The hotel’s complimentary breakfast buffet has something for everyone in the family, with a great selection of hot and cold items. It was perfect to go downstairs and grab a bagel for Olivia and Jack’s favorite oatmeal with peanut butter.

Kids will also love the heated outdoor pool, which is a great way to cool off after a day of exploring the city. And the 24-hour fitness center means that parents can squeeze in a workout whenever they have the time (which we actually did, I am proud of myself for that one)

The hotel’s location is also a plus – it’s close to all the main attractions in Tallahassee, including the Capitol Building and the Tallahassee Museum, so there’s always something to do.
