Mumbai's CSMIA to remain closed on May 10 for pre-monsoon maintenance work
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport will close its runway on May 10,2022 for pre-monsoon maintenance work intending to mitigate the possible inclement weather.

In a statement released by the airport, it informed, “As part of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport’s (CSMIA) monsoon contingency plan, both runways – RWY 14/32 & 09/27 will remain non-operational on May 10, 2022, for pre-monsoon maintenance and repair work. The closure will be from 11.00 hrs to 17.00 hrs and a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) has been issued in this regard.”

The operation will commence with three coaches at the start, and gradually be ramped up further. Launched on April 15, 2022, this 24×7 service is fully operational from 1500 hours for passengers which can be availed for free between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai.

All operations will resume as usual from May 10, 2022 post 5 pm IST. The statement further said, “Passengers are requested to check with their respective airline on their schedule flights for May 10.”The runway closure is a yearly practice and contingency plan executed by the airport to ensure operational continuity and passengers safety.
